Started off with a stunning mass in St. Stephan's Cathedral, right behind the choir and organ:
Then, wandered narrow streets to find the oldest church in Vienna, St. Rupertskirche:
Originally built 8th century A.D. |
Modern stained glass windows, installed 1992 |
Note the Gothic ribbing on the ceiling |
On my way back towards home, I heard the sound of loud organ playing, to discover this clock with the procession of Viennese rulers. How lucky I passed by at noon:
Then I attended a Baroque music concert in a Baroque church, right around the corner from where I live:
Finally, attended Aida, by Verdi, and was blown away by the costumes, music, and set. Couldn't have asked for more today:
Oh, and Leberkäse is the mysterious meat I had a long while back that's SO GOOD. And spongy. |
