Die Katakomben Stephansdom

Freitag, 3 Mai

Die Katakomben Stephansdom. Sppppoooky:

What's up Rudolph IV. Uni Wien is still goin' strong.
I see dead people.

Lots of them. So, when one catacomb chamber was full, they would mortar it up and fill a new pit. Often the pit openings were only so big that they could fit 1 body at a time through.

God's not only watching you; He's pointing at you.
Another fun thing they had people (prisoners) do was tear apart rotting limbs and stack up the bones into a compact, neat formation as seen here in the darker bones.
On that lovely note, I later ate at Vienna's oldest cafe with a friend:

Topfentorte!

A delicious savory Palatschinken, fried and filled with spinach and cheese. Mmm, mmm.
