Italy Trip, Day 4: Florence in Five Hours

Samstag, 23 März
I left Venice like I found it, grey and wanting to rain. Guess it was sad to see me go too:




Had a rather uneventful train ride towards Rome, until I heard a couple cabin mates mention they would be stopping in Florence for a few hours before spending the night in Pisa. I decided I would pass through Florence as well, darn it, hopped off the train, bought a new train ticket to Rome for the night, and dashed about Florence with all my belongings for 5 hours: 
Hey, Florence Cathedral. You look like a zebra.


At least this guy serenaded us while we stood an hour in line for the Accademia Museum.

Otherwise, I just saw lots and lots of shops.

After all the madness, I had this lovely flat at the "Secret Garden" apartment to rest in once I arrived in Rome. Not bad for 20 Euro a night:
