Vienna Semester, Day 5: Salome

Freitag, 15 Februar

Tonight I watched a phenomenal production of Strauss' infamous Salome. The music particularly took my breath way, with sharply juxtaposed romantic and modern sounds reflecting Salome's bipolar, unstable character. Bravo!
Awesome view with Parterre Staatplatz. Glad I tried something new.

Explored and found some new halls. And new cafe areas.

Gilded room with busts of ALL the famous composers: (right to left) Haydn, Mozart, Gluck...

And so begins the scandal causing opera...
Famous moment: Salome singing, with (spoiler!) John the Baptist's head.
Bravo!
